About Chi Pi

Alpha Phi Omega is a national, service Fraternity. The Fraternity is based on the principles of Leadership, Friendship, Service. It was originally founded at Lafayette College in 1925.

The Chi Pi Chapter at SUNY Fredonia was founded on May 15, 1971. Due to problems we do not know, the chapter went inactive in 1972. It was rechartered on May 2, 1987.

After the recharterment, the chapter was very small. For example, in 1996, there was a pledge class of two. That was not strange to this chapter, since there were only seven brothers at the time.

The next graduating class took five of those brothers away, leaving only five to keep the chapter running. They doubled up on positions, and were determined not to sink. Pretty soon they had a pledge class of 4,then 8, then 17. Soon Chi Pi was reborn.

Chi Pi now has an average of about 15 brothers who work hard to keep their service program alive!!!

Chi Pi Chapter participates in many service events, including volunteering at the SPCA, Beach Cleanups, book drives, exam packs, blood drives, and volunteering at shelters.
